Hausach - Pointed Rock - Käppelehof - Hausach
You should be in good physical condition and sure-footed for this hike. Prams do not work at all and children should definitely be a little older. You can see the course of the 10.6 km long route on Google Maps below.
The effort does not come from the 10 km, but from the 450 meters of altitude. The first part of the path goes continuously from Hausach to the Spitzfelsen on beautiful, shady forest paths, partly very steeply uphill.
Arrived at the Spitzfelsen you are rewarded with a magnificent view.
You can see my video of the hike here:
In this beautiful old Black Forest house, you can sit down for a drink or a meal after the various metres in altitude.
The menu is not too extensive, there are snacks and some selected main courses. We have chosen the rump steak and the venison stew, each with spaetzle and a side salad. In addition a Müller-Thurgau from Durbach.
The service was very obliging and always on hand when needed. Please also excuse that - contrary to my usual practice - I am not posting any pictures of the food this time. This is in no way because they were not presentable, I was simply too hungry.
The food was so good that we decided to come back in any case.
From Käppelehof then it goes about 4.5 km on shady forest paths mostly gently downhill.
Back in Hausach, you will pass through a very beautiful quarter with old Black Forest houses worth seeing.
Back at the miniature golf course you can enjoy a refreshment before the journey home.
Hiking in the Black Forest opens new perspectives every time. This round is demanding but very beautiful. We made a big mistake: With muggy-warm 27 degrees we had no drinks or snacks in view of this "not too long hike". Not only because the break at the Spitzfelsen offers itself, but also because of the altitude difference I recommend to do it differently...
